Breathe. Trust. Be Healed.

If we look up the meaning of Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy we discover: sudden temporary weakening of the heart muscle, which is triggered by emotional stress such as the death of a loved one. It is also known as Broken Heart Syndrome.

As I mentioned to some friends a few weeks ago, I believe Mom is suffering from a broken heart. I just discovered this syndrome today.

I am now convinced that the Broken Heart Syndrome is why her heart condition escalated so rapidly since her last check up in April 2012. If we had a test to show how her heart was functioning in December, and again in May and then again in August of this year, I’m sure we would see the weakening increase rapidly since December.

This would also explain why, after highly successful open heart surgery, her recovery has been so painfully slow.

Dear Mommy, aka Elaine Foster:
You are truly a sweet lady, a wonderful mother, and a strong woman of faith. Here is Truth, as written in Scripture, for you to lean on:
“Draw near to God for He is near to the broken hearted and He helps those whose spirit is crushed.”
He holds both you and Daddy in the palm of His own heart. Nothing happens in either of your lives that He was not prepared for. You know He is faithful to complete the good work He began in you before the foundation of the earth.
Be still. Breathe. Trust. And let the hand of your heart hold His.
I love you,
Cheryl
